Born in 1977 in Aichi Prefecture. Lives in Takasaki City, Gunma Prefecture. In 2003, completed a course in oil painting at the graduate school of Kyoto City University of Arts. Currently associate professor at Kyoto University of Art and Design. Started activities as an artist while a student at Nagoya University of the Arts and in 1999, co-operated in setting up and operating "art space dot", an artist-run space. Has held solo exhibitions including "Migration" at the Museum of Modern Art, Gunma in 2015, and "Kito Kengo: Multiple Star" at Hara Museum Arc in 2017. Uses everyday materials such as hula hoops, strings, and mirrors to create works in wide-ranging media such as installations, two-dimensional art, three-dimensional art and movies.
