Hideki Yoshimoto
Design Engineer
Born in Wakayama Prefecture in 1985. Graduated from the University of Tokyo Graduate School of Aeronautics and Astronautics in 2010. He moved to the UK in the same year and received his PhD in Innovation Design Engineering from the Royal College of Art in 2016. Established the design engineering studio "Tangent" in 2015. He has presented a variety of works in a way that fuses design and technology, and has provided many designs to world-class luxury brands. He has received many awards in both design and engineering fields, including the Japanese Society for Artificial Intelligence (JSAI) Annual Conference Award, the certification as a IPA Super Creator, the Lexus Design Award, the Red-dot Design Concept Best of the Best, and the Wakayama Prefecture Cultural Encouragement Award. In 2020, he was selected as a specially appointed associate professor at the Research Center for Advanced Science and Technology of the University of Tokyo, and co-founded the field of advanced art design. He further expands his activities based in London and Tokyo.
