Ellie and Ryuta Ushiro belong to the artist group Chim↑Pom which was formed in Tokyo in 2005. Chim↑Pom responds quickly to the various phenomena of modern society, constantly releasing works carrying a strong social message. The group uses mainly images, but also sets up installations and stages performances, being versatile in a wide range of media. Based in Tokyo, the group participates in exhibitions worldwide, and has been involved in many projects overseas. In recent years, Chim↑Pom has expanded its activities, overseeing art magazines and curating for exhibitions. Publications include "Chim↑Pom Portfolio" (Kawade Shobo Shinsha 2010), "Why we must not let the skies of Hiroshima flicker" (Jointly written with Kenichi Abe, Mujin-to Production 2009) "ideaink" (Asahi Press 2012), "SUPER RAT" (Parco Publishing 2012).
