Born in Hokkaido. Graduated from Tama Art University (Faculty of Art and Design, specializing in textile design). Involved in a wide range of activities from art direction for companies, brands and shops, to product design for brands such as D-BROS. Founder of the brand KIKOF and designs its ceramic products. Works across genres, creating new expressions and pursuing the potential of graphics. After working at graphic design company DRAFT, set up KIGI in 2012 with Yoshie Watanabe. Many of his works have received high acclaim at international competition, winning prizes such as the 11th Yusaku Kamekura Design Award, the Tokyo ADC (Art Directors Club) Award, the JAGDA (Japan Graphic Designers Association) Award, the ADC (NY Art Directors Club) Gold Prize (United States) and the One Show Design Gold Pencil (U.S.). Co-author of "KIGI" (published by Littlemore), a portfolio of KIGI's works. Major exhibitions include "KIGI exhibition - Ryosuke Uehara and Yoshie Watanabe" (Ginza Graphic Gallery, 2012), "KIGI Exhibition - Implosion and Explosion" (Hillside Forum, 2013) and "One-off design" exhibition (Pass the Baton Gallery,2014)
