Born in 1962 in Tokyo. After graduating from Keio University, Toyama entered Mitsubishi Corp. in 1985. In 1999, he opened the first "Soup Stock Tokyo" restaurant. The concept of the Soup Stock Tokyo is a restaurant specializes in providing "stomach-filling" soup. In 2000, Toyama set up Smiles Co., Mitsubishi's first in-house venture company, and became its president. Later, he started the necktie shop "giraffe" and a new kind of recycle shop called "PASS THE BATON". In July 2012, "One Hundred Spoons" - Soup Stock Tokyo's new type of family restaurant - opened at the Kobe-Sanda Premium Outlet in Kobe. In this coming October, his new fashion brand "my panda" with a concept of two-tone will open. Toyama recently wrote the book "Deciding to Win". He also works as an artist and has been involved in package design for the Conran Shop.
