Born in 1968. Joined HAKUHODO in 1993. Engaged in business PR initiatives in the Corporate Communication Office. Assigned to the Asahi Shimbun company in 2001. Editorial director of "SEVEN," a newspaper for younger readers sold at Starbucks Coffee etc. Chief editor of "Kōkoku", published by Hakuhodo from 2002 to 2004. Involved in launching the Japan Booksellers' Award in 2004. Currently a director of the Japan Booksellers' Award NPO board. Established HAKUHODO Kettle in 2006 to implement communication unhindered by existing methods.
Actively involved in media content production such as by being chief editor of culture magazine "Kettle" and local news website "Akasaka Economic News." Opened a bookstore B&B in Tokyo's hip Shimokitazawa district as a joint venture with literary creative director Shintaro Uchinuma in 2012.
