Fumie Shibata

Graduated from Musashino Art University's Department of Industrial, Interior and Craft Design . Worked at the Toshiba Design Center, and set up Design Studio S . Shibata has worked widely in industrial design, in genres ranging from electrical appliances and everyday sundries, to medical equipment.
Among her major works are the "body-fitting sofa" for Muji, "Kenonkun" thermometer for Omron, and the capsule hotel 「9h nine hours」. Has received many awards at home and abroad including Germany's iF Gold Design Award and the Mainichi Design Prize.
