Born in Osaka in 1975. Author, scriptwriter, movie director, stage director, TV commercial director and planner.
After working at an advertising agency, became independent in 2006. Debuted as a movie director with "Umi deno Hanashi (Story by the sea)". Her major books include "Ikiru Konto" (Living Conte) and "Ikiru Konto 2" published by Bungei Shunju, and a picture book "Gumi to Sachiko-san" (Gumi and Sachiko-san) published by Kondansha and illustrated by Ryoji Arai. Currently writing essays for magazines such as Sunday Mainichi. Wrote the script and was in charge of the general stage direction of "God Doctor" at the New National Theatre, Tokyo in 2008, and "Singer 5" at Kinokuniya Hall in 2009 as well as the TV drama "Kinoshita Bucho to Boku" (Manager Kinoshita and I). Has also worked in the following: script for "Deka Kurokawa Suzuki",(Detective Kurokawa Suzuki), script and general stage direction for "Room of King", script for "Mikeneko Homuzuno Suiri" (The detective activities of Holmes, the calico cat), script and general stage direction for "Naminori Restoranto" (surfing restaurant), general stage direction for "Ojiisan-sensei" (Grandpa teacher), and part of the script for "Salaryman Neo". Has supervised music videos including "Gunjo" (ultramarine) for Spitz, "Danjo Rokunin Natsu Monogatari" (Summer story of a six-member group of boys and girls) for Ketsumeishi, "Address" for Masayoshi Yamazaki, and "Oasis" for Hanaregumi.
Currently hosts "Snack Ellie," a show broadcast live on Ustream from 10PM most Wednesdays featuring a wide range of guests, sharing a toast with viewers nationwide.
