Tatsuo Miyajima

Contemporary artist and vice president of Tohoku University of Art and Design and Kyoto University of Art and Design. Born in 1957 in Tokyo. From the mid-1980s, started presenting art works with digital light-emitting diode (LED) counters showing numbers from 1 to 9. Ever since, numerous exhibitions have been held in Japan and abroad; works have been shown in more than 250 places in 30 countries. Started "Revive Time" Kaki Tree Project in 1996 and the "PEACE SHADOW PROJECT" in 2009. In 2003, made work "Counter Void" which was installed at Roppongi Hills on the outer wall of TV Asahi.
