Masamichi Katayama/Interior Designer/Principal of Wonderwall Inc./Professor at Musashino Art University's Department of Scenography, Display and Fashion Design
Born in 1966 in Okayama prefecture. In 1992, Katayama co-founded "H.Design Assosiates. Since he set up his own company "Wonderwall Inc." in 2000, he has been involved with varieties of works in design fields including interior design, creative direction, architectural design direction, project development consulting and so forth. His current projects expand globally to Europe, the U.S., Australia and parts of Asia.
In 2007, has been awarded "Interior Design Firm of the Year" of "The Great Indoors Award", an international, biennial, interior design award held in Holland with Rolf Fehlbaum, Chairman of Vitra as a chair of an international jury. In 2009, TV program "Professional" (NHK) introduced Katayama's philosophy of designing process and in the same year, Katayama was named #54 on Fast Company's list of the 100 Most Creative People in Business for 2009 in the U.S., and has been gaining increasing international reputation.
Publications include "Wonderwall Masamichi Katayama Projects", "Wonderwall Masamichi Katayama Projects No.2" (Frame publishers) and "WONDERWALL ARCHIVES 01" (Parco Publishing).
