Junya Ishigami

Born in 1974 in Kanagawa Prefecture. Gained master's degree in architecture at Tokyo University of the Arts. After working at the architecture of Kazuyo Sejima, set up his own firm, Junya Ishigami and Associates in 2004. Has received numerous prizes including the AIJ (Architectural Institute of Japan) Prize for Architectural Design and the Golden Lion for Best Project at the 12th Venice Architecture Biennale.
