Born in 1978 in Tokyo. Completed course in media art at Tokyo Polytechnic University's Graduate School of Arts. Takes distinctive photographs of landscapes and buildings which are the backdrop for communities and people. Has gained attention for his carefully composed soft images taken with a 4×5 inch camera. Employs the "aori" method, takes photos from the air and travels widely to find shooting locations. Received the 32nd Kimura Ihei Award for his photo collection "small planet" (published by Little more). Besides making his own works, has also photographed for advertisements and magazines. Held solo exhibiton "Shinkirou - Bird's eye view of Yokkaichi" at the Yokkaichi Municipal Museum" from April to June 2013. To coincide with the exhibition, released a new photo collection "Shinkirou (published by Little more).
