Artist, researcher and developer. Graduated in 2001 from Central Saint Martins in London, and finished a course at the Royal College of Art in 2003. In 2004, formed "BCL", an artistic research framework, with Georg Tremmel. Her interest is in the impact of biotechnological development on society and in water environment issues. Fukuhara says it is her mission to "critically intervene" in these issues and to make closed technology available to the public.
