Set up Naoto Fukasawa Design office in 2003. Known for designs of simple and stunning form, Fukasawa has designed and served as design consultant for numerous major Japanese manufacturers and world-renowned brands in countries such as Italy, France, Germany, Switzerland, and countries in the Scandinavian region and Asian region. In 1999, started the "Without Thought" design workshops that focus on creativity born from the unconscious, unthinking mind. The workshops, held each year, later lead to an exhibition of the works made by the designers and a publication of a book. Head of jury of the Good Design Award from 2010 to 2013. Fifth director of the Japan Folk Crafts Museum. Director of 21_21 DESIGN SIGHT. In 2014, scheduled to become head of the integrated design department at Tama Art University. Books include "Design no rinkaku" (The outline of designs) published by Toto, the co-authored "Design no seitaigaku" (Ecology of design) published by Tokyo Shoseki and a collection of his works "NAOTO FUKASAWA" published by Phaidon Press. "THE OUTLINE - the unseen outline of things" was published by Hearst Fujingaho following an exhibition of the same name held jointly with photographer Tamotsu Fujii.
